Hi, I’m Sharon Gideon — a high school chemistry teacher, doctoral student, and lifelong learner with a heart for inclusion, excellence, and grace in education.
Over the past ten years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in classrooms across six different countries before settling into public education here in the United States. My experiences with multilingual learners, refugee families, and students with disabilities have shown me one enduring truth: every student can grow when we teach with purpose and love.
Why I Created This Blog
Teaching Every Learner was born out of both research and reflection. As part of my doctoral journey in Curriculum and Instruction, I’ve conducted action research on how teachers perceive and implement multimodal strategies to support students with IEPs in inclusive classrooms.
But this blog is more than a portfolio — it’s a place for heart-centered, research-driven teaching.

In my faith community, PTL stands for Praise the Lord — a phrase that reminds me daily to teach with grace, patience, and intention. That’s why I chose the initials PTL to represent not only my faith but also my work:
Professional Teaching and Learning, led by purpose and prayer.
“Grounded in Grace. Growing through Practice.” is more than a tagline — it’s the rhythm of my work as a mother, mentor, and educator.
